Injection Molding

We operate over 50 presses ranging from 50 to 250 tons. Shot size up to 442 cm³. 

Our lowest cost mold is made from P20 tool steel; it is not unusual to get up to 100,000 shots from the mold. We can warranty longer life if required.

For all projects, first shots are measured and documented on a FAI (First Article Inspection) report. After approval of the first shots, critical dimensions are identified and tracked through production and final inspection before shipment. All molding parameters (process settings) and in process data is recorded for future production. This also enables you to get your next order faster.

Under the material drop-down menu, select Injection Mold Materials for a list of the most common resins that are easily available. Many of our projects require different resins, and these resin are only limited by availability and MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity). If you don’t see what you’re looking for listed online, just reach out to us. We do have the capability of running high temperature resins that require oil cooling of the molds.

We have an internal staff of tooling engineers that design all our molds. The molds are made internally with the latest CNC and EDM manufacturing equipment.

Mold costs vary from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. Part complexity and the number of cavities are the biggest cost factors.  Production requirements and part cost considerations can also effect mold cost.  PMT molds for prototypes or low volume production can lower the cost of a mold as only the mold inserts are custom produced for the part and you’re not purchasing an entire mold.

You do. For our PMT prototype and short run tooling you own the custom inserts. In full production molds you own the entire mold.

Each tool is on a preventative maintenance schedule. We keep records of the number of shots, maintenance and mold modifications. After each production run the molds are inspected for any maintenance requirements and then are protected and stored until the next production run. Since we build all our molds we have full in-house capability of maintaining them.

Yes. We have full in-house capabilities to do modifications including precision welding and tool restorations. As always the level of modification will dictate the most economical approach, either modify or full insert replacement.

Yes, we have done many projects requiring molded in inserts or overmolding of TPV/TPE on plastic.

We offer a broad range of assembly options that range from sub-assemblies to full product assembly as well as finishing operations and final packaging.

The fastest way to a quote is by providing a 3D file, either a stl file or a CAD file. A 2D drawing with tolerance requirements would be helpful but not required. You will also need to supply the material requirement, the projected order quantities and annual usage.
