Selecting Urethane Castings

Urethane castings closely simulate injection molded parts. This gives our clients a fast low-cost process for producing prototypes and low- volume production parts without the high cost of metal tooling.

Benefits:
  • Low cost tooling.
  • Short lead time.
  • Variety of materials
  • Small to large parts.
Applications:
  • Prototypes
  • Short run production
  • Marketing samples
  • Assembly testing

VCM Frequently Asked Questions

The VCM Process.

Vacuum casting is a highly versatile technology capable of producing parts in a range of polyurethane (PU) resins to create, replicate and replace engineering polymers for prototypes and end use parts. The manufacturing technique is ideally suited to low volume batch production when injection molding is not cost beneficial; typically a single mold can be used to produce up to 50 parts before re-tooling is required.
